Day 3 in zoo...
From 9-12+, i simply stone inside the office and even dozed off for dunno how many times haha.. too tired + boring when doing research and reading books on behaviour haha... but once its lunch time, its fun~ haha...
After lunch i went to the surgical room and helped Dr Sonja in restraining the snake for operation cuz the snake have stomatitis (should spell in this way ba haha)
And i also got to join Dr Sonja for doing routine checkup at different places... went to the tapirs there and did blood test to check for babesia cuz that tapir is losing weight over unknown reason...
Then got to go to primate holding area, which is the place i have to go very often in future for my major project... went with dr anwar and that guy damn funny la.. super stress lor him... think its bcuz he is a new vet here... before he drive me there, he asked me to make my confessions lolllll... cuz he is not confident in driving... and yes! he stalled alot of times haha... super cute la him lol...
Then when we come back, we proceed to the feed preparation room and do all the checkup for all the phytons caught from outside.. and omg there are alot... all in different sizes... we did sexing of the snake (a tube is inserted to the hole, if not wrong is the site for urinating and shitting... if there is obstruction that prevent the tube in, its a female snake... if there are allowance to let the tube in, its a male snake cuz there is a penis holding sac if not wrong), tubing of the snake (which is gavaging la cuz they are dehydrated), restraining for injections... and these snakes are damn strong even after sedated..
One of the phytons swallowed a bird from the zoo... so Dr Sonja squeezed out his faeces and i do the checking of the faeces for the bird ring, so as to identify which bird kanna swallowed... the whole process is damn funny la haha... i am simply shredding the faeces into TINY pieces and just to look for the tiny ring... its smelly of cuz and sonja said if i am able to find it, she will treat me coffee lolllll.. in the end i still cant find any haha..
While doing the shredding of faeces, one of the snake pee and shitted on sarah... damn funny lol... it happened alot of time while we restrain la, but din expect it to do it on sarah haha...
Those snakes that the police caught are mostly healthy and beautiful, however, some of those that were caught are injured and we have no choice but to put it to sleep... sonja injected pentobarbital into the brain of the snake and the turn the needle around in the brain to 'squash' it... and the we can see how to verify snake is dead... its kind of sad but we have no choice... all thanks to the police... they wanto send in bulk for what they have caught... but din they realise that if there is sick animals and they cant treat it, please seek for veterinary attention la... dont wait for the time to send all the animals and by then the animal is already cannot make it... get ur pea brain thinking please...
Got my results today but din do well... overall my gpa increased la but still not up to what i need haha... and as usual, gpa was counted wrongly... i need to email dr chan liao... and please she needs to take action asap lor... i am happy that my bpharm got B+ haha... din expect that... and last n csas i got B, which i longed for it haha... saprn i din manage to get A, so its pretty sad la... but worst thing is AHDis... i got a B! faints... from a A grade dropped to B... all thanks to the last term test and practical test... super sad la... but no choice... gotta work hard for mp liao...
